Stupidsparkles.com Domitilla Corsini : I can't wait to start my fall/winter shopping! Enjoy! Right about time to start craving winter and itís clothes.
Recently, my boyfriend and I with a group of friends organized a trip to Barcelona for the DGTL festival.
As soon as my boyfriend booked the tickets, I couldn’t help but excitedly scream in my head “time to plan outfits!!”
I always try not to seem too thrilled about outfits, but I don’t think that this is just a ‘girl thing’ like most people would try to infer. Not all my girlfriends are like this. Not all girls are like this, and yes there are more guys that will understand me when I say this.
Anyways, I immediately opened Asos, from the app on my phone and started checking out the ‘New In’s. As I was scrolling down the pages, I noticed that many winter items had been added to the new collection.
“Oh fuck!” I whispered, as I checked the date on my phone.
It said August 1st.
Right about time to start craving winter and it’s clothes.
In fact, as my eyes were appreciating the winter collection, I was inspired by the patterns, colours and materials to create a new mood board for my website.
The mood board had to consist in anticipating my personal view and my taste on what I believe the new trends will be.
I have this habit of screen shotting clothes and pictures I see on Instagram, so I went through my phone to check out what could have been useful for my new mood board and I cam up with the pictures above.
The pictures all have individual and collective motivations for being selected. In fact, the pictures as a whole represent the colors, the must’s and the materials that I anticipate will be the trend of the fall/winter season. Remember my words girls, these light and dark pastel/tenuous colors, specifically the pastel/matt violet of the second picture, are going to be a must in these coming seasons.
Moreover, another essential aspect of the fall/winter trend anticipations, are the long silk skirts. I find the length perfect for the cold weather, elegant if paired with heels and sportive if paired with sneakers. Also the combination or individual use of the silk and tulle are a brilliant alternative to abandon boring, black tights on winter nights out.
Individually, I chose the first picture because I like the shape of the sleeves as well as the pattern, which I think will return as one of this years winter’s trend. I used the word ‘return’ because around 2011-12 I loved the plaid/tartan patterns, then probably I got bored with it and completely forgot about it. However, recently I have been picturing many of my ‘future outfits’, including plaid details.
As a matter of fact, I selected specifically the first picture because, whereas back in 2011-12 I used tartan pattern as a main part of my outfit, this year I’m choosing to dedicate tartan only to details.
For example, sleeves, shoes, bags, neck-chokers.
Moreover, I love every single nuance of pink, and I have been wearing for the past years black lace half gloves, (see my birthday outfit and more) so why not combine the two?
I saw this picture and I completely fell for these sexy and romantic pink half gloves. I know leather half-gloves have been around already, but last year I REFUSED to buy a pair as several tacky people had ruined it for me.
This year however, I would love to find light pink leather half gloves with the braided details.
Last but not least, feathers are going to be a must in my wardrobe, I would love to find an Ivory feather jacket, with a super elegant fit.
Shout out: ochre and dark blue love these two colors together.
I can't wait to start my fall/winter shopping! Enjoy!
