CORRIERE NEW YORK JEFFREY EPSTEIN CASE THE CUSTOMER AGENDA HAS BEEN DESECRETED NEW REVELATIONS OF THE SCANDAL AWAITED

New York 4 January 2024 by Martin Sheen

The veil is being lifted on over 150 people linked to the legal case of Jeffrey Epstein, the American financier who committed suicide in a cell in New York in 2019 while awaiting trial for sex trafficking of minors.

Their names were kept secret for years until a judge ruled there was no legal justification to continue keeping them under seal.

The initial tranche includes 40 previously undisclosed documents with nearly 1,000 pages of depositions and statements. Among the names are a series of Epstein associates previously identified as John or Jane Doe in a lawsuit brought by Virginia Giuffre against the financier's former lover, Ghislaine Maxwell, sentenced to 20 years for recruiting underage victims. Among these also Giuffre herself. The list of names has fueled curiosity and speculation on social media and the media but it is not a list of 'clients' and does not imply any accusation of complicity in Epstein's crimes. The first tranche of documents does not appear to contain any bombshell revelations: CNN writes, adding that the transcripts of the depositions include references to several important names that have already emerged in the past, including those of Prince Andrew and the former president of the United States, Bill Clinton. Much of the information contained in the documents has already been made public through the media and other legal proceedings, the broadcaster explains. However, this is the first time these documents - filed with a court - have been released through the legal system. In particular, the papers contain excerpts from the depositions of Ghislaine Maxwell and Virginia Roberts Giuffre. There is also a deposition from Johanna Sjoberg, another young woman who ended up in Epstein's ring, who tells how Prince Andrew playfully touched her breasts while she took photos of her. Sjoberg's story was also known, but this is the first time her testimony has been made public. Prince Andrew and Virginia Giuffre have reached an out-of-court settlement in the sexual abuse case against him, a document filed by his lawyers on Tuesday confirms.
